Hi Sazlebazle

That is really good news I have been told it is one of the old types but can still be very effective for anxiety, depression and pain. I also have tolerated it well and it is helping. I hope that you continue to get the benefits from it as well. The good thing about a low dose is less side effects and if you need to increase you have plenty of scope. I have a close family member and a friend who take 250mg a day. Good luck and take care for now...:)

Thank u for the feedback :) I started taking 30mg last nite around 6pm, bit of dry mouth and really vivid dreams but my headache is starting to shift. Don't make me as drowsy as I thought they would. Not been on them long enough to notice if they will help with my anxiety but hoping they will.

After trying quite a few different SSRI's and SNRI's I think this type of AD seems to be working better for me. Been on it for around 3 weeks now and don't feel as anxious in the morning as I did before. :)

Hi Sazlebazle

I started off at 50mg in the hospital and went up to 100mg in a few days but there were people watching me in the ward so it's a bit different from your situation. They do get a bit of getting used to mind you. What I like about them I don't feel so anxious in the morning. I know this is a crap way of doing it but I guess it is like any other medication you may have to experiment. Maybe your G.P could give you a guide to upping your dose. I wish you all the best....I should say that I still get anxious and feel depressed. I then have to try other things like C.B.T. or getting out the house. The tablet just seems to be better than what I have had before. Are you taking any Diazapam I take 3 * 2mg each day but this is only for a couple of months.....All the best whatever you decide to do....:)

Been on them a few weeks now and hey presto my headaches have subsided :) Still gettin the odd bit of tension but nowhere near as much as before. My ibs has calmed down and I think my anxiety has been helped, start a new job next week so I'll see how I get on. Back at the Drs for a review in the next couple of weeks so in goin to ask to stay on them. How long have people been taking them?

they arent addictive so ok long term ive been told i saw a specialist at hospital monday and he said they are a ok to be on long term so im staying on mine i may just lower the dose etc most of my days are great and no headaches at all but i still get a little bit of dizzyness every now and then it seems to depend on how ive slept the night before x

Not good, my Anx came back with vengeance... Been off them over a year now..they don't cure, only mask symptoms. So you can be back at square one...they are used mainly now for nerve damage, pain etc

Yes, you have to deal with whatever the cause of your Anx is eventually,I'm better off the meds than I was on them. Just feeling awake again is great, after 10yrs feeling dizzy and spaced out all the time.

I know how you feel, I was on ssri's for nearly 8 years. So liberating gettin well and comin off them :) Had a couple of little wobbles in the last few years due to life events but apart from that I'm doin good. Pleased to hear others are able to get well and stay well without meds. I'm all for the recovery model.

hi guys I was on amitriptyline for about 12months.when my gp prescribed them it was for the pain in my feet for rheumatoid arthritis but they were then only 20mg a day.as they were not really helpful for the pain I came off them in November.I was then put on tramadol which worked a treat.but for some reason when I had started taking them 2 days on 1day off, that is when I had my big panic attack on new year s day.paramedic s came to see me and said it might of been the start of my panic attack.thinking about it my family and myself thinks it could be a build up from the end of November.as I am disabled I can't do much or I "burn out quite quick".so I have to pace myself.well I went into town about 2/3 Times a week, which is usually once every couple of weeks.also there was of course Christmas,my granddaughter 1st birthday party, took my other granddaughter to a pantomime.on my granddaughter s birthday my husband and myself babysat for our son's 2 children so they could go out and have some time together.well when we got home I pulled up outside our house and I could not undo my seatbelt so l panicked a bit.then 3days later that is when my world got turned upside down.a week later I went to see my gp and was prescribed this same pill again but on a much higher dose.this is my 6th day and apart from a very dry mouth, and wandering legs, there are helping a lot.take care one and all.
