heres my first tip,

CHARITY SHOPS, if you can make it to a charity shop on a regular basis then you can really save a fortune.
We have 4 charity shops around the corner and they have some amazing bargains...and are usually empty of people :)

I have just got myself a Laura ashley dress brand new with tags still on it for £7, I am going to be GOD MOTHER in sept (church event).

Then for £4 I found new shoes to match the dress.

I am making a matching necklace and now only need to find a handbag !

Also my daughter just got a bike for £7 because shed outgrown her old bike.

DISHWASHER TABLETS.

i find these so expensive ,so lately have just put Vinegar in the machine instead and my dishes have come out just as clean , apparently it also helps remove any limescale and is much cheaper and no chemicals.

Good post Mirry.

Thanks Nic will take a look at those sites later on after Big Bro!

I add water to fresh orange juice to thin it out a bit and that makes it go further - a nutritionist told me to do this because pure juice is a tad too rich and can affect your teeth.

I always shop in the sales, I got some lovely bras (and a pink handbag:D) for £4 and £5 etc in the recent NEXT sale (cheaper than Primark)!!

Look for stuff on e-bay and/or 2nd hand books on Amazon.

Put all your 5p's in a jar everyday and it soon mounts up (unless a passing teenager spots it)!

If I think of anymore I will return.

Switch your energy supplier if you have not already done so. If you are still with your traditional supplier (e.g. British Gas, Seeboard/EDF etc) you are probably paying over the odds EVERY month. You can switch here http://www.energyhelpline.com/energy/rg_home.aspx?aid=107

Save on phone bills by using services such as 1899.com You just have to dial a prefix before the number to get cheap calls. Works for overseas calls too.

here are some top energy saving tips http://www.tvec.org.uk/Energy_tips.asp

Did you know that leaving things on standby accounts for 8% of your electricity bill?
So turn the TV and DVD player off when not in use, and don't leave on standby!

Don't forget the classic of turn your underwear inside out and wear it twice:):)

Ladies - don't try this with underwired bras [Oops!]

Generic food instead of named brand at my house. No cute bears on cereal or quaker oats guy - if it doesn't say in big bold letters what it is on the front of the box I don't buy it.
oh another one is I only wash in cold water to save on the electric bill.
I thought about selling mine on Ebay too and making twice the money cuz sure as anything - a week with my kids and they would pay me to take them back - lol
The only thing that is holding me back is the shipping cost!!! It's sure to be way more than I can afford and then there's making sure there are enough air holes in the box - just more trouble than it's worth. hahaha

Thanks for the Links Nic and ray.

As for putting the kids up for adoption, this could be a big money spinner lol. I know from when I used to foster children that the parents got alot of financial help, new house ,new appliances, collected and taken places. But to deal with social services again NO THANKS lol.

Piglet , watering down orange juice also helps if you suffer with stomach problems (must be the acid again).
What about Homemade lemonade ?

2 lemons (juiced)
2 teaspoons Honey
2 pints boiling hot water (or more if you like it weak)
4 tablespoons of sugar

mix together and chill

I work full-time and noticed that I was spending a ridiculous amount of money each week by buying my lunch each day from supermarkets, cafe's etc, ready-made sandwiches and salads are really pricey if you buy them that often. And also because whenever I bought my lunch from Sainsburys, I ended up buying a couple of magazines with it too :D

I went through my bank statement one month to see exactly how much I was wasting every day, it was crazy, so I started taking my own lunch to work, and cannot believe the amount I've saved by doing this (around £120 per month!!). Last winter I made my own sandwiches and took a flask of soup (supermarket own brands are cheap), or I made my own soup (boil together whatever veg you fancy, blend it up, season, and you've got enough to last a few days).
This summer I've been taking sandwiches and/or a salad (pasta, cous cous or just lettuce and stuff). The key is to buy supermarket makes, not the branded stuff. I'm practising for when I move in with my boyfriend and will definately need to save money!

Also...just regularly checking your bank statements helps you figure out where your hard-earned cash is going. I know it is painful but it's got to be done!!!

selling you crafts can be good for making some extra pennys,

Ive got my jewellery in my local Library because they have just opened a craft shop, it a new idea that the council here in Hampshire have introduced, its for raising money for more Library supplies and services.
They take 20% of sales.

Ive just popped in there and have sold quite alot of jewellery, they have asked me to provide 3 other Librarys in Hampshire ...so Im going for it.

If your Local Library dont do it, phone your council and ask them to do so ,selling your handicrafts.

If not ,try local craft fairs and fetes.
