Hi my doctor has given my Paroxetine for my health anxiety but not sure and scared it will make me worse. he first tryed diazipan and beta blockers but they spaced me out and convinced me even more i had a brain tumour. What happens when you take them and can they relax your tight muscles cos my neck and upper back and head feel like a streched rubber band. start cbt on tuesday

It's not gonna make it worse, on the contrary...
It can take up to 10-20 days for it to become effective, but usually you are prescribed benzodiazepines to relieve your anxiety till then.
I'm not gonna lie to you and say you won't experience side effects when you start your treatment. The question is, do you want to risk getting better or be sure you remain anxious ?

I was terrified to go on escitalopram but honestly my experience was not that bad re: side effects, and i am so happy I did because I feel better than I have in a long time. It is there to help you.
