Just wanted to say hi and to introduce myself :)

I'm 43 and married with a teenage daughter. Health anxiety has me feeling almost suffocated at times. When I am worried about yet another health issue, it distances me from my family as I can think of nothing else.

I often come here when things get really difficult and my worries are getting out of hand. I search for my symptoms and always find someone with the same ones, and a more realistic idea of what it will be. I KNOW I am being irrational, but the mind is a strange thing I suppose . I am by nature a really positive person, people wouldn't know if they spoke to me that there was anything wrong (I hide it well, I think!)

In the last 2 years I have had (or should I say thought I had)
Breast cancer - had mammogram and turned out to be leaning on that side and making the tissue tender whilst working on the computer.
Liver cancer - had scan and turned out I have a fatty liver which was causing the pain.
Throat cancer - had endoscopy (twice) which showed esophogitis from acid reflux.
Heart attack - had ecg and chest x-ray which were both fine. Turned out to be my back muscles which had gone into spasm mimicking a heart attack.

I am currently worry free (for how long who knows?) but am hoping that I can meet others who feel as I do and maybe along the way I can help to allay someone else's fears as many of you (unknowingly as I have been a lurker rather than a poster) have done for me.
