Tomorrow I'm about to start prozac on 10mg to lessen side effects. any positive thoughts please as I've tried most a/ds without success

I went down to 10mg after 20mg was giving me awful side affects. I found the side effects went down quite quickly after I reduced the dose.

I'm on 10mg! It's starting to work well. Now I Just have to start the progress of changing my lifestyle. 10mg of prozac is definately a great aid for me. There's been a few hiccups down the road but I'm positive you can handle it!

I am on 10mg and it works well.

I tried 20mg as my doctor said that is the dose she recommends,but it was way too strong for me,so after a month I dropped back down.

It seems to be quite common that 20mg of Prozac for those of us with anxiety is too much and the side effects are intolerable. I was able to take that dose when I had depression years ago but this time 20mg was not good so I increased to 40mg and that was worse! Now I'm on about 60mg a week and feel great! I now stick with a dose for 6 weeks before changing dosage - it's been a lot of trial and error but Prozac is brilliant if you find the right level for you.
There is lots of evidence that even 5mg of Prozac works, in the clinical trials 54% of people responded to 5mg but because 64% improved on 20mg that's the dose they licensed for use in the UK. Don't be rushed into increasing the dose, you'll have less side effects and may find that 10mg is just what you need

it took about a week for it to settle. Try if you can to get through the full 7 days. If no improvement, see your GP again.
