Sore tingling scalp.

I have a sore scalp at the moment, I tied my hair back this morning and the whole scalp was really sore, so I let it down again and it's still sore.
Has anyone had that?

I have a very dry scalp and it itches too, at the back,and behind my ears.
I had this the other week. Don't know if it is medication or not.
I have rubbed some warm olive oil on my scalp, it seemed to work last time. will wash it out later

Could be painful nerves from jaw, neck, shoulders or back tensions too.

YES, I've had it intermittantly for two years - worse in times of stress. It makes me reluctant to wear my hair up as it feels worse and wearing glasses makes it worse too, where the arms of the glasses push on my head it makes my whole head tingle and ache.
I think it is due to the tension I hold in my neck but can't seem to get rid of it permanantly, I've tried acupuncture, massage, relaxation etc, the only thing that gets rid of it is paracetamol - it's literally a pain

Pony tail headache. I rarely tie up my hair as my head is painful after.
