So today has been awful. I have spent the whole day with anxiety and a headache. I have been in bed for the majority and due to not moving postion very often..(I tend to be SO tensed up that I barely move) I now have a really sore neck and shoulders. Any tips on how I can relief this alone..I don't have anyone currently here with me to give me a rub. Could my spaced out and fuzzy head be relatd to this headache? I still have a nervous feeling and slight nausea..although not as intense as earlier. I also have pins and needles in both feet. Grrrrrr. Reassurance please my dears!!

Ok I learned this in relaxation therapy

Lie down, put your hand on your tummy and breathe in through your nose out through your mouth, your chest should not move, only your tummy, breathe in for 5 and out for 5, keep doing that for a few mins. Now start with your toes, tighten them up as hard as you can and hold for 5, relax them, now your calf muscles, do the same, now your thighs, your bum, then push your spine into the bed, now hunch up your shoulders, hold for 5, relax, squeeze your hands into a fist, hold then relax, push your head into the pillow, relax, raise your eyebrows hold for 5, relax, finally allow your tongue to drop to the bottom of your mouth, allow your jaw to drop open slightly, just breath. Now your fixed, no no, you don't have to thank me :) xx

Pity I don't live closer, I have a holistic therapy diploma and could have given you a massage! Do you have one of those microwave wheat bags you could put on your neck and shoulders? We need those epsom salts to soak in :)

Haha You will have to wait until my fractured foot is recovered for me to stand up long enough! A nice relaxing aromatherapy massage. I often do them from my friends and family. It relaxes me doing them too :)

Well I am feeling abit dry so just got a nice glass of water, microwaved me sheep and he is now sat on my neck...He has lavender in him too so the smell is lovely!! I was so blurry and spacey walking downstairs..I will be sure to get straight out of bed in the morning. I know anxiety is something we create. I will go for a walk or something! I think the fact that I had a disturbed sleep and crazy dreams last night made me wake up anxious. x

Annie0904
28-09-12, 20:39
Sweet dreams tonight then and you can count the sheep to help you get to sleep :) xx

Lol..It really has eliminated the sore muscles..Thanks so much for that and I have been doing my breathing too. Couldn't find any tablets for my hadache but was thinking it is probably from my strained neck...I am also quite sensitive to lights this evening! Isn't it funny how..If I read someone else with these symptoms..I would know that they are all anxiety related but when you are in the anxious state you still need that reassurance! lol x

I know my husband often says to me "I wish you would listen to the advice you give to others!" lol

Laura123
28-09-12, 20:47
My hubby says the same!

loopylu86
28-09-12, 21:10
Strange isn't it?! I never reassure people unless I truly mean it or relate to it. So funny how you can never quite convince yourseld the same! lol. Finally unwiding abit now the tension has released. Whatever would I do without you two!! xx

My gran fell tiday and broke her hip, she is 85, in hospital and getting hip replacement tomorrow, all I could think was oh no how will I manage to visit her? I felt so selfish! X

Annie0904
28-09-12, 22:04
and all I have to worry about is getting to the hairdressers...the joys of anxiety. Don't feel bad or selfish you two...like I said before I couldn't even get to the hospital to see my daughter last week...what a useless Mum! Hope we all have a better day tomorrow and get to do the things we need to do but don't beat ourselves up if we don't :hugs:

28-09-12, 22:06
Aw love her!!! It's awful isn't it? You love them so much but anxiety overwhelms everything. I haven't seen him since the funeral. I don't think I have ever gone longer than 2 weeks without seeing him!! Are you going to attempt a little visit? I think I am going to be brave and go. The only thing putting me off was the fact that going there is upsetting for me and you can't just exit if you need to. xx

2 hours drive..Maybe abit much for you at the mo. You are still in earky Cit stages so I would relax..Your Gran will understand...Obv she has other family there...It's like that with my grandad..I know my mum and sis are there on a daily basis..So it's not like he needs me for anything like cooking or anything but I do need to visit just in general. The help id excellent! I'm watching Coraline! lol. I am a big kid really! How is your daughter now Annie? I think I had just joined when she went into hospital...Did they find out why she had collapsed? xx

Annie0904
28-09-12, 22:23
She had a stomach bug and became dehydrated which caused a seizure. She has had bad headaches since but they said this is common after a seizure. She is hoping to get back to work next Tuesday.

loopylu86
28-09-12, 22:27
I have collapsed due to dehydration before on holiday. Eyes rolling back and all. Aw So glad she is on the mend!! I bet you feel so much more relieved now! How did she react to after the seizure? Fainting developed a fear in me. Yet I know people who have passed out several times and think nothing of it. x

Laura123
28-09-12, 22:28
Poor soul, she must have got a fright! X

Annie0904
28-09-12, 22:33
They kept her in hospital overnight on a drip and was fine the next day. I faint quite easily...I fainted when they took the cast off my foot, I don't like pain so when I am in pain I just faint. I fell off the front door step once and sprained my ankle (yes I am accident prone!) I was on my way to pick my son up from work and fell behind the car, luckily someone saw me otherwise I don't know what would have happened because I fainted straight away and knew nothing until a paramedic was there. Good job I don't drink alcohol because I am dangerous enough without it lol!

Yes she is 27 and size 6 so she hasn't got much weight on her to lose. She never stops eating but doesn't put on weight very much, she is the only girl I know who tries to put on weight rather than lose it!

29-09-12, 16:30
Aww that one is gorgeous Laura, I love it. I bet the other one wasn't as bad as you think it is.
I only went into the clothing part of Sainsbury's while my husband bought food..I was so worried about someone pushing a trolley over my poorly foot or standing on it that I couldn't think about anything else!

Laura123
29-09-12, 16:36
Oh really Annie it was awful! Even though it was just the clothes bit (best bit) you still got out and did something, how did you feel? X

---------- Post added at 16:36 ---------- Previous post was at 16:34 ----------

You know the thing, it's Sod's law when you have a side bit, that's always the bit that gets run over or stood on or just badged in some way. Is it healing any better yet? X

Annie0904
29-09-12, 16:53
It is healing but still painful. I can walk without crutches now but limping and very slowly. I am just so fed up off the constant pain. They had 25% off clothes today so I bought a lovely little party dress for my grandaughter in Japan age 5. She isn't really my grandaughter. her mum lived with me for a year when she was 16 (she is 36 now) and she always called me mum so her daughter now calls me Grandma.

Laura123
