finding it extremely difficult to urinate!

Hi all,

18 year old male. Been taking Citalopram for about 3 months now and its working so so well! Problem is its becoming harder and harder to pee! Come to a point where I can't stand up anymore. Probably way top much information but its worrying! Anyone else have any similar problems?

I think you should go to see your doctor if it is affecting you that badly, I hope you get the problem sorted soon :hugs:

the bladder is connected to the central nervous system and bladder retention can indeed be a side effect from taking ssris, I get it from time to time but am in acute withdrawal.

Its just your cns in deregulation, see if it settle down, if not then you may need to change meds, or better still taper off and stay off them!

ignore my hatred of medication but its made me very poorly. do whats right for you

You need to tell your doctor. Just to rule out any causes : )
