Hi everyone.

My names Devyn. Recently (about 6 months ago) is when it all started. I woke up, average day. Was getting ready for college, I drove up with my dad to get something to eat. As soon as I stepped out of the car to head into the restaurant, I had one of those moments where if you stand up to fast you feel faint. I immediately panicked as i've never had one of them before, my heart was probably at 200 beats per minute, it was RACING and beating extremely hard. I convinced myself I was having a heart attack, which made it even worse, it followed with shortness of breath and nausea, and then I finally blacked out, as I was standing up, I don't remember much except hitting the ground pretty hard. I woke up with paramedics around me, I was on a breathing machine, in an ambulance and they were taking me to the hospital. at that point I thought to myself, i'm only 17, how could I have a heart attack? when I arrived to the hospital they put me in a room, got me comfortable and flipped on the t.v.. I went into x-ray rooms where they did lung/heart scans. everything came out fine, the doctor prescribed me Xanax, and sent me on my way.
I didn't know that that day would change my life, but it did. for the much, much worse. ever since then i've been living hell on earth constantly worrying about diseases. Such at all types of cancers, undiagnosed HIV/AIDS, MS, Neurological disorders, blood conditions, high blood pressure. I wake up every morning worrying my hearts going to burst and i'm going to instantly die. after that I have brain fog ALL day, including tiredness/slight fatigue. Not such bad fatigue that I can't get out of bed, but I yawn quite a bit throughout the day. I was just wondering if it's possible for someone who has severe anxiety like myself to produce symptoms for severe conditions such as HIV/AIDS. Even typing AIDS makes me cringe and makes me want to cry. That's my biggest fear, I am so afraid of AIDS that I would be happy with a cancer outcome, since I know it's not AIDS. I know that sounds messed up, but it's true. I would rather ANYTHING else besides that... What can I do, i've thought about suicide to end it all, but i'm severely afraid of death, and I could never go through with it. I can't live in this constant anxiety anymore, or it's going to kill me. can anxiety cause brain fog/unsteadiness? Please respond. thank you so much.

I know what you're going through, its extremely tough to worry all the time about your health. Let me reassure you being anxious and worrying that much is draining it takes a lot of energy to worry and fret like that. So the tiredness and brain fog you're experiencing is just from your anxiety! Nothing more so don't worry!

As for the experience you had that was probably just from anxiety too, I'm betting you were still waking up, sleepy, it was morning, you got up out of the car too fast and felt that normal light headed feeling. But that made you panic which can in of itself cause someone to pass out even with out hyperventilating. The fact the ER gave you the Ok after lots of tests that most people don't get in their entire life should be real comforting to you that your healthy and strong!

What you should do is focus on being less nervous, cause trust me you'll feel so much better! I know that's way easier said then done. But try to occupy yourself with other things, don't let your mind wander idle to long and don't google diseases. Sometimes it helps most of the time it just makes you more worried xD. And if you feel you need help talk to your doctor, a lot of people are born with a disposition towards being anxious. You can't help it, its hardwired in you. Your doctor may be able to help, maybe you could try Lexapro or Zoloft.

Anyway don't get to down! I'm going through the same thing and it gets better. But rest assured all the stuff your feeling is from your anxiety. Anxiety is a powerful thing but that's all it is!

Good Luck! I hope you feel better soon! :)
Feel free to message me if you need anything!

Hey,

Sorry to hear you're going through such a hard time. I think neptune gave you some great advice! I would always say NEVER google any disease or symptom. If it lasts more than two weeks go see your doctor.

I have suffered from brain fog on and off for a long time, actually many people do have it on and off.

I would CBT would be a great help to you, it certainly helped me move past my HA, there are some good self help books on amazon but I recommend you look for a CBT specialist who deals in anxiety disorders.

You can get past this, I have and so have many others.

Ever need any help just pm me or msn :)

Head rush happens me almost daily.
The best thing to do is sit down and lower your head.
It happens due to blood pressure falling, that's why you get weak and dizzy because your body wants you to lower yourself to level out the blood pressure.

I get a racing heart, up to 250 a minute but the heart can safely beat much faster : )

What happened is your panicked which made you breath too fast which makes you breathless, it can cause you to faint.
It's your body basically shutting you down in order to keep you safe.
It's very rare to faint when you panic but it can happen.
The best thing to do is force your self to breath slow, hey that's something you can do so yay : )
The over breathing is what caused the fainting spell.

Did you eat a lot of food, or drink caffeine ? Both can trigger a racing heart.

It's text book panic attack. The tests showed nothing wrong that's good!
Heck they kept me in over night for harmless palpitations and again for tacycardia / racing heart.
They also ordered a tone of tests.
So you know if there was the tiniest thing wrong they would have looked into it more.

Some therapy or CBT can honestly help.
You're just stuck in a bad thinking and fear patteren.
