View Full Version : Psoriasis and panic attacks
Hi everyone does anyone suffer with psoriasis I have had it since I was 16 but it has gotten really bad since my panic attacks started 3 years ago would love to hear from others who have both xx
Yes ive got scalp psoriasis and have had it since I was a child. Think its gentic as alot of my family have it to, not sure if it is linked to anxiety. Id guess it probably is as most things are! ha ha ha :)
My uncle has psoriasis, and as I understand it flare-ups are well known to be associated with times of emotional stress/being run-down, so I can totally believe that it would be linked to anxiety.
Thank u for ure replies Elle Kay could I ask what ure uncle uses for psoriasis I have had a number of creams wich have failed to provide any relief I have an app with a skin specialist tomorrow so am hopeful that will help it being so sore :) xx
My hubby has it, quite bad, but he does not suffer any anxiety issues, maybe it could be due to his stressful job, i dont know. I thought it was the body producing too much skin, so not necessarily an anx thing?
I've definitely read/heard about it being linked to emotional stress, I think maybe on "Embarrassing Bodies" or something.
As for what my Uncle puts on it, I'm afraid I don't know, but I would dare lay you odds that he doesn't use anything as he's the type of man who would see it as the same as applying moisturiser, or mascara! lol
i also saw a programme that some doc said internal parasites cause it....
Here, I found some links (from reputable sources) which might help:

Products containing coal tar are pretty effective for managing Psoriasis. Your GP can prescribe lotions and shampoos.
