View Full Version : Knitting Nancy
So I was having a dig earlier and found my old knitting Nancy...I also have plenty of wool and would like to get started...I remember loving this as avhild and remember finding the technique very simple back then...yet I can not for the life of me remember how to start it? There is very limited infor online about this and I would much rather see a video than read how to...there doesn't seem to be one though...Could anyone explain?

oh I used to have one of those..you can make them out of cotton reels and tacks as well :)
Thank you! This made me aware that it is actually called spool knitting!! Thanks!!
You feeling better now Lu?
Try searching for french knitting, rather than knitting nancy (but no, I can't remember how to start it either, despite using one a lot as a kiddy!).
I am currently up and running! Forgot how enjoyable and relaxing this is!!
I am feeling alot better thank you!! I am spooling!! So much fun!! I should probably going to bed lol!!
I decided to try some knitting again yesterday. It's been so long since I last tried that my Mum had to show me how to do it again (she has the patience of a saint, my Mum!), but I've been busy practicing this evening, and even taught myself to purl with the help of YouTube :)
So pleased to hear that :hugs:
I love knitting! My sisters do too! Our nan taught us when we were children! I can remember how to cast on/knit but not off! I never got to pearl or anything that advanced! But that is all about to change!! This could be the exact distraction I was looking for!!! xx
