Frightened of having flu jab.

Last year I had the flu jab for the first time, a week later I developed a type of food poisoning and my anxiety started at the same time, I have had the anxiety now for 11 months and am taking citalopram for it, have also had a colonoscopy since and have been told I have post infection IBS, I just don't know whether I can risk having the jab this year in case it makes things worse, I have asked the GP about it and he said he doubted if the flu jab could have caused this, has any one else had experience like this?

The flu jab would not have caused that, it was just coincidence that you got food poisoning after. I have a flu jab every year and the only side effect is a sore arm for a few days.

Thanks Annie, I know I should have the jab as my 92 year old Mum lives with us and I need to look after her, I know it makes sense and like you say it was just a coincidence.
