Left my last job due to panics / serious anxiety. Recovering with meds, but how am I to approach an interview with an obvious gap on my CV. Are ex-employers allowed to spill the beans in this respect. Advice from anyone that has managed this is appreciated.

I had gap of 9 months on my cv... But my friend had started a business so I said I was helping her out for cash occasionally while job searching...
You can't lie about your last jobs leaving date on cv, as your p45 will show the leaving date when you join new co.
If you refer to what ex employers can say in a reference, then it's basics , like attendance, reliability, honesty etc... They shouldn't mention your Anx etc...
