Palpitation overload

Hi i have suffered from GAD for over 7 years now been to the doctors today to have my citalopram dosage increased to 20mg coz really struggling at the min but omg tonight my heart wont stop beating out my chest what can i do???

How fast is your heart rate? I remember when I first started citalopram my heartbeat was faster than normal for the first couple of weeks, even when I felt relaxed. It was about 90 beats per minute, but thankfully it's pretty much back to normal now.
