My OH had an achy/pain feeling in his groin last week and now he says that he can feel a small (moveable) lump on the tube near to (but not on) his right testicle.

I said he should pop to the gp but being a typical male he says he is going to leave it for a while a keep a check on it!

I googled the symptoms and came up with a cyst on the epididymis but not sure.

Wondering if this is common?

Hi Ruby

I had same symptoms and mine was an epididymis cyst.

My motivation to see gp was to get the day off work (Monday )

I also had a cyst, which I first noticed when I was 15 and I'm 25 now. Scared the hell out of me, and it does hurt when you put pressure on it (I think that's more due to it's location on the tube than the actual lump though). The doctor told me it was pretty common though.

There's no harm in getting it checked. Yes, it's embarrassing when a doctor has to feel your balls but you get a big feeling of relief when the results come back (if the doctor does refer you to the hospital, which is what happened to me). It only took about 2 weeks, and I don't worry about it at all anymore. Now I have possible IBS and a lump around that area to worry about instead lol.

DEFINITELY get it checked out. It's probably ok, but just in case.

My friend has been battling testicular cancer for ten years, and it's not fun. If your OH doesn't check himself for that (all men should but quite a few don't) then the doctor will at the same time.

I agree, this is quite common so more than likely it's nothing sinister but deffo get it checked out to rule out anything nasty (worst case scenario, even if it was nasty it's much better to catch these things early). Chances are it's just a harmless cyst. x

I have had this before and went to my GP she examined it and just said its a harmless cyst :) it should go away or stay it doesn't matter as long as its of no discomfort
