Escitalopram and Tramadol

My doctor wouldn't prescribe me tramadol because he said it can have a bad reaction with escitalopram.
Just wondering if anyone has had any personal experiences of taking the two?

No, but I do know it can give you serotonin syndrome and you shouldn't take the two together.

Hi there, I think your Doctor has your best interests at heart here, I have been looking at the information leaflet that comes with my citalopram and it warns against taking citalopram, (which is basically the same as escitalopram) with other serotonergics such as tramadol, as it increases the risk of serotonin syndrome, which it describes as very serious, so be careful.
