im back again writing yet another post about my "mysterious" head problems which started in july ... feelings of depersonalisation, weird feeling in left head, pain in left ear, shooting pains in left head and forhead.
it did go away for a week in august then it went away for 11 days last week, now it is back. it doesnt get any worse and iv never had a headache with it.
i was on 10mg cit for 4 weeks then doc put me on 20mg which i took for 2 weeks but i piled half a stone on in 2weeks so i stopped them.
back to docs next week.
everything just seems to be left sided ... this week iv also started experiencing sharp shooting pains in my left chest every couple of hours and today im getting awful pains down my left forearm and hand... i also have fluid in my left ear (which the docs says i dont but i can hear and feel it) im literally fed up , it is really affecting my life.
last week i was great.... but now its back again.... i think its some kind of slow growing illness :weep: im so scared. i also had a dream last night that i fainted... now when i googled it it came up that u are gonna received some unexpected news about ur health  SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME

It sounds like you are having a dreadful time, but have faith it will get better soon, doctors don't always know what's best, especially in the area of mental health, depression and anxiety etc, and unless they have taken SSRIs like citalopram, don't truly know how it effects each individual.

I would suggest insisting on having some kind of tests and scan done, even if just to put your mind at rest, if you dont feel comfortable talking t this doctor, perhaps seek advice from another, (you are entitled to)

Best wishes, Steph:)

Yes, unfortunately anxiety can cause every one of those symptoms and can really mess with your mind. It can convince you of anything. I shouldnt worry about how many times you visit your GP, you have to keep on until you get the help you need. I had to be in my GPs surgery every day until he finally agreed to refer me. Looking back now it was obvious that he didnt have a clue about anxiety.
My advice would be not to keep stopping and starting you medication. You have to commit to sticking with a drug and giving a fair go before you know whether it is helping you or not. They are so many different drugs available if one doesnt work. From my own experience they work really well when combined with therapy.
I notice you mention the exact number of days you felt better. I can remember doing that so clearly. I used to keep a diary and add up how many good days and how many bad days I had had. Sadly, that is the pattern of the road to recovery. But eventually you will find you will have longer good spells.
Try not to worry and pay your thoughts too much attention. I promise you, you can overcome this. I was a complete wreck. I was convinced I was the one who could never overcome anxiety, but here I am leading a normal life again, just wish I hadnt given in to the anxiety and lost all those years. But there is no quick cure and it is a case of learning and retraining your brain.
