Painful spasms upper abdomen

I keep getting random painful spasms in the upper abdomen area about 2 inch below the sternum. They only last a few seconds but sometimes come in bursts and then stop this happen most everyday and has done for ages.

I have had a endoscopy done in the last year and that found nothing, but that was done for gerd!
When they happen it is pretty painful but only for the time it happens their is no tenderness and nothing seen to bring it on.


Any ideas or is it yet another stress symptom ie: tense muscle
