barometric pressure?

Does barometric pressure have an effect on sinuses and ears? since the hurricane came in the area my ears have hurt and my sinuses have been all congested. It could just be a coincidence but the barometric pressure was at a record low.

I am not really good at science but I do know that me ears are always worse after being in an aeroplane so I guess air pressure affects them, I am not sure how similar that is to barometric pressure.
