I'm not going to google this as I know what it will come up with, but for about 6/7 days now I've had a sore on the side of my tongue after I irritated two taste buds and now the left side of my tongue there is a smooth patch on the side, it's kind of burning.
It has a slight border around it and has no taste buds on it, any idea?

Sounds like an ulcer, I get them all the time. Either that or maybe you have burned your mouth on hot food?

I had my boyfriend look it up and he said the only thing that comes up is something called geographic tongue, it's like when the taste buds shed on the tongue and it leaves smooth patches on the tongue that can burn or sting which makes perfect sense seeing as the area where it's smooth has no taste buds lol

Sounds good.
A burn on your mouth also goes smooth, I get them all the time and keep licking my own tongue when it happens as I like the feeling of smoothness haha!
Either way, I doubt it is anything serious and I wouldn't worry about it.
