Asymmetrical Tonsils, + Large hole worry

Hi another worry that plays on my mind regarding my tonsils... On the left side I have a hole above the tonsil which is fairly large can fit my finger tip in it... On the right side I have a tonsil which looks like its in 2 halfs.

Can it be normal, I used to get lots of tonsil stones which I think made the hole big on one side. I rarely get tonsil stones anymore though.

Anyone else have anything like it? :wacko:

My dentist has never noticed it... I still obsess over it at times. Does anyone else here have 1 tonsil larger and a different shape to the other one?

Also this hole in one I've had for years... Don't know if its anything to worry about. But I do.

Must be someone out there that has different size tonsils? Don't get many replies on this site I must be a freak :(

Sounds exactly like mine,one of mine is huge with a big crypt in it i always get stones out of it,nothing to worry about.

yeah my GFs son has something similar which happens with those stones. May be wise just to get them checked out though at the docs... 5 min visit to clear your head :-)

Here's a pic of the big crypt (hole) in my left tonsil, anyone got anything like that? It appeared years ago after lots of tonsil stones came out... If it was cancer I'm sure Id be dead by now? Still it worries me now and again. Looking for some more reassurance. :/

Cancer isn't a hole. My tonsils are very lop-sided, was under a specialist for three years, have now been discharged. It is NOT a sure-fire sign of tonsil cancer! If breasts can be lop-sided, no doubt kidneys, hands and tonsils etc don't all match either. ;)

If you have an inflamed tonsil which is calcifying, it's bound to be larger than the other. That doesn't look like a typical malignancy - as far as I know all tonsillar cancers are palpable masses. It does look very much like the site of a tonsil stone though.

Some tonsils are craggy and it is normal. You might get tonsils stones in there as well. I have craggy tonsils and I sometimes have tonsil stones as I have post nasal drip. My tonsils are asymmetrical as well. Normal, not cancer, nothing sinister.
