The past few days my anxiety has been really high and today I just feel really cold and numb. I am trembling and shivering. I have the fire and the heating on and yet I feel so cold inside and out. Does any one else get this feeling?

Annie,

This happens to me a lot when I am highly anxious. I can have the heating and the fire on but still can't manage to get any heat into me. It's like there's something inside me that shivers away like someone has just walked on my grave. I know how you feel and I hope this will pass for you soon. Get a steaming cup of tea into you and relax by the fire. :hugs::hugs::hugs:

I'm nearly always cold, but hate it when I get cold inside. The best thing for that is either a hot bath, or a nice warm drink to warm you up from the inside out.

Also though, remember what it says in CBT4Panic? Shivering can be part of the fight or flight response, as it's caused by the rush of adrenaline to your muscles when your body prepares you to run away. If you don't do something physical to use up the excess, your muscles shiver & twitch x

Edward I have had a bowl of hot soup and a cup of chamomile tea. I just feel so weak, tired and cold...I guess at least I can look like a zombie for Halloween without any effort!

I think you've had an hard time of it over the last few days. I would go to bed and give your mind and body a rest from the anxiety. Tomorrow is another day

Try to rest Annie. I know you'll probably kick my butt for saying that, but it helped me an awful lot over the past few days :)

I tried to change them a few year ago and I was in a right state..They gave me prozac and I felt suicidal so don't want to go there again. I really think it is just because of the worry over my foot and my son that has got me in this state this time...in time I think it will get better again. xx

Annie, Prozac are terrible pills. I also became suicidal on them and the first day I took them I felt out of my own body watching myself and thoughts of cutting my wrists. I stopped them after day four.

I will see how I am in a few days. Just tried to wrap some Christmas presents to distract me but only got 4 done. My hubby is cooking a pizza and I will try to eat some of that then go up to bed.
