View Full Version : This is for our anxious pets on fireworks night
Ok let's all not forget this is the start of a very anxious time for our pets, why they can't just do fireworks on one night is beyond me? Anyway, apparently feeding your pet pasta or mashed potato hèlps to calm them down naturally, we had ravioli in a lovely ragu tonight so my dogs had ravioli with beef and red wine lol. Also, they say a blanket over a table will create a dark safe place for trembling pooches to hide, it's best not to spend the night cuddling your pet as this just confirms to them that there reaction of fear is right. My furry babies are all set with bellies full of carbs, our street firework display starts at 7.00pm. Xx

Your cat is very pretty Annie. He also has a regal look about him! I love little Yorkies too they are well cute.

My cat is a monster...I have had to bluetac my ornaments down as he whacks them all on the floor with his paw. The jewelry cabinet he is next to...he can open the drawers on it. We have had to put child locks on the kitchen cupboards and he can open the freezer door so have a child lock on that!

He thinks he is a dog and likes to play fetch...I throw things for him and he brings them straight back. He is a Bengal/Siamese cross...both intelligent breeds. He follows me everywhere. He is so protective of me, even sits on the side of the bath when I am in it. A neighbour who he is not used to just walked straight into the house one day (when I was in plaster cast and I was expecting him) Chai yowled at him and jumped on him!! He has never done it to anyone else. I think he knew I was ill and was protecting me.

Lol lol you lot are nuts! Just back from the display, my wee doggies are happy it's over for tonight, they have came out their wee hidie holes and are having cuddles and treats :) god it's bloody freezing out there tonight. How are we all feeling this evening??? X
a bit better tonight Laura...I have stopped crying so that is a good sign.. I am hiding in my bedroom though. I was downstairs crying and said "I'm scared someone will come in the house" Hubby thought she has really lost the plot now!! so I am hiding upstairs :D

Well a bit better is a good sign Annie even if you are hiding in the bedroom, you know I meant for the pets to hide away in a safe corner not you!!!! Lol. Why don't you lock the doors downstairs then you won't feel afraid someone is going to come in? Xxx
The doors are locked...that's just it, I don't know where that thought came from..I just knew I wouldn't be able to cope if we got visitors.
Annie you are going to benefit so much from cbt. Challenge those thoughts, what's the worst thing that could happen, how would you cope with it. I can't wait to see you improving xx

Did you not get an email about the discount this weekend. I had been waiting like last year when they did a free delivery weekend. They had the bear on offer till today but it is back to its normal cost. I was going to order two anyway and the 10% on the discounted price would have covered most of the delivery. However the normal price and one half price is even better offer.

Leah..my daughter would love that!! When she was 7 she asked Santa for an iguana and he saw the look on my face and said "I don't think I can get one of those" so she said "well can I have a Boa constrictor instead" We settled for 2 Guinea Pigs!
They petrify me :( my son loves them and lizards, he wants one soooo bad but ............. Computer says nooooooooo! Lol x

:roflmao: I promise that the ferrets are perfectly safe - they've been inside to play this afternoon. I don't think the snake (Karn) even knows they exist to be honest as he lives inside and they live in the garden :)
I know you would keep them safe anyway Leah, it is just daft things that come to my mind in the middle of the night! :D
