You post a lot on here about really quite small and normal things which is understandable if you have Health Anxiety but if it's really getting this bad you should be seeing a specialist if you are not already. YOU WILL BE FINE :D

You're not aware of being poisoned by carbon monoxide. You just die. My husband lost his uncle, aunt & cousins this way.

I work with boilers alot through my work, one of the main things with carbon monoxide is it's a silent killer, you would just fall asleep while you were there with no symptoms. The fact you walked home means your fine, believe me :)

I saw this on tv. I can understand how someone with extreme anxiety would think that they had it because it kinda went through my head about being tired all the time etc, but I'm not panicking about it.

You will be fine but there is normally no reassurance that you can give someone about all these things.

A British Gas engineer told me he recommends every home has a carbon monoxide detector. I have a gas oven and my boiler is in the cupboard across the hall from my kitchen, so he recommended just one in the hall would be adequate. If your boiler is a long way from your kitchen, you might need two detectors.

A detector is a very sensible precaution.

I had prob one of the worst panic attacks regarding the idea of carbon monoxide, I actually poste on here when it was all going off....
Ended up calling the gas company at 3am telling them I was poisoned they came out and turned off the gas etc
My Husband went nuts
Got a monitor in the end.....seemed it was just good old anxiety symptoms

Staying in room with window open till bedtime will that help? I'll have to close it when I sleep though what if cm gets in the room I close Window then I die from it. Can boilers that have worked fine for years suddenly start producing the poison?

Emma you need to calm down. If you're that worried, turn the boiler off.

The reason you heard on the tv about someone dying from carbon monoxide poison is because it is rare. We have a detector in the hall, i am quite paranoid about it myself, as are several members of my family, but knowing the detector is there reassures me.

I got our monitor from the local DIY shop.

Warm air in an enclosed space alone can make you yawn & feel sleepy.

If you had cm poisoning you would either have passed out or be feeling incredibly ill by now. If you are worried you can turn the boiler off until you get the cm detector xx

As far as I know a boiler can start producing cm at any time but you wouldn't just feel sleepy from it. You would feel ill xx

Emma, you've been fine all this time. If there was a problem with your home's boiler you would have been hospitalised by now.
