H pylori test

I've had one before and i hate it as you have to swallow a tablet and now I'm having it again and I'm dreading the tablet, I'm sure it was a massive thing. (Had trouble swallowing the last one and shrunk it abit and you're not allowed to shrink it)

Anyone had one recently and know how big it was?
On letter it says you have a drink of solution and no tablet is mentioned.
Also I can't take any diazepam and ill be sh***ing myself before I get there.

What does the test involve?

You swallow a tablet and 20 mins later you take a breath test to see if you have helicobacter pylori.
You have to fast aswell so no food or drink and its done at the doctors.

Ahhh ok thanks - I never knew they tested it like that.

I am sure they can offer you liquid to take instead so make sure you ask about that.

I had this test a while ago and it was a blood test - no tablets or solutions involved. I'm not sure whether it can be done in different ways?

You can have a stool test too but mines the breath test way. Might go ask them what other ways they do it

Mine was definitely a blood test though I'd rather have had it your way!

hi i had it few weeks back an its a disolvable tablet now :)

I last had one in 2007 so hope it's different.
Would be nice if its dissolvable. :)

How long have you had hpylori for I've had it for 10 years can't seem to get rid of it :weep:

Never had it. Last test was negative but they testing again cos acid is torturing me. And it's the first test they want to do
