Severe burning throat after acid reflux really worried

I was lying flat in bed and I got all this stomach acid come up into my throat and now my throat feels like it is on fire. I am wondering if I need to go to causalty can this be serious for the throat or am I panicing here. Ive taken some gaviscon no more acid but it feels like Ive damaged my throat or my windpipe im worried it may close up.

No your throat won't close up.

Prop yourself up with pillows in bed and it will help.

I get that often, it's when acid Is refluxing up from your stomach into your oesphogus. It can be caused by lots of different things. I think anxiety causes mine as I stick to the GERD diet and avoid all the common food triggers but I still get it on occasion.

You should not sleep on your right side or stomach as this increases the flow of acid. I have my bed head elevated as recommended by GI Doctor. You can buy wedges aswell to put under a pillow.
