Hi :)
My name is Sarah and i've suffered from mental health problems since I was 16. I've been on all sorts of anti-ds over the past 13 years but i'm on Fluoxetine at the moment and i'm having quite a hard time with the side effects. In my search for answers online I stumbled across this place and i'm really glad I did :) I've already felt really comforted by some of the threads.

Welcome to the forums Sarah. :) 28 days is still quite early (I saw your other thread) so you might not be getting the full effects of the medication yet.

Thanks Sparkle :) It's strange. Some people think 28 days is quite early in but some people think it's not. I guess it all depends on the person??

Yes it's different for everyone. I'm on a different medication but it took me nearly 11 weeks to get the full effect. I did start to feel a lot better after 3 weeks though.

My general mood has definitely got better. I'm able to smile and laugh now at least. But it's just the agitation that just won't go away.

I still had some underlying anxiety until I reached the 11 week mark, but my mood improved a long time before then. It seems the tablets worked for the depression first and then the anxiety. It was annoying and I was so glad when it finally went away. I've also been doing other things such as CBT classes, which helped a lot as well.

I'm due to go to my 3rd DBT group session tomorrow. The medication side effects have meant i've not really been able to put any of what I have learned into practice though

I take fluoxetine too. I find the tablets 'take the edge off'. It helps my mood and my ocd. :)
