Depersonalization – Is it serious?
I used to suffer from serious depersonalization just before migraines. This would come in the form of my arms seeming ‘further away’ as well as my eyes not registering stuff. It’s like I couldn’t concentrate and everything felt like a dream. This would scare me and for literally YEARS NOW. I get scared to look at my hands in case the look further away. I haven’t had migraines for a while now but this depersonalization is still quite heavy at times.
I think it’s linked to my anxiety (GAD and PTSD) and I have just started CBT, but I’m scared that my conditions point towards something serious and sinister.
Is depersonalization ever a symptom of anything serious?
