nervousness when talking

I may not be a chatterbox but if im withthe right person i do lika natter.
In general tho i cant seem to talk to someone without thinking about myself talking :s if you get me
I seem to muddle my words up and i cant stand still listening i have to have something to twiddle with in my hands.
If you met me you wouldnt think im nervous at social 121 talk (as ive been told) but i am nervous! Would love to have a genuinely good happy convo without getting anxious

I find this too, mostly when I'm talking to people who aren't family/close friends. I always sort of subconsciously feel the need to impress people, so I concentrate more on myself talking, which makes me stumble over my words etc. (and has the total opposite effect to the one I wanted, lol). However, even my family (who know about how much my anxiety affects me) have commented on how confident I seem with people, even among new people!
