is it normal to feel worse when meds are up'd??

I was on 50mg of sertraline for 2 weeks, then put on 100mg for 4 weeks, now im on day 8 of150mg but the past 3 days my anxiety is bad, almost like how i felt at the start. I feel all tingly, constant butterflies, a feeling of dread, i feel like im going to panic any moment for no reason. Doctors have told me theres nothing neurologically wrong with me, but i cant accept it. Surely this isnt anxiety? I must be ill?? surely.

Saw doctor yesterday, he just told me to keep taking them.
Advice? Is this normal?

Hi Charlee,

When my medication got upped i felt like i was completely going backwards, like all the hard work i had done to feel better was just annihilated (I did feel like it was that much of a setback). But 7-10 days after starting the increased dose i felt SOO much better, dare i say it, myself again.

I think you just have to stick it out, it will get better!
