Over the years with anxiety I've had:

Nausea
Dizziness
"Buzzing" sensation in foot
Visual disturbances
Headaches
Muscle and joint pain
Tremors in hands

Unfortunately there are lots of physical symptoms but they seem to come and go if you accept that they are part of your condition.

If you're especially concerned about any physical manifestations of anxiety, just see your GP - I had nerve conduction tests to rule out MS for my "buzzing" foot, put my mind at rest and only get it occasionally now.

Hi Graham, my physical symptoms started before the anxiety/panic kicked in, so I thought there was something seriously wrong with me until I went to the GP who said it was anxiety. I found it hard to explain the symptoms I was getting outside of the 'norm', nausea, tingling, dizzyness, heavy head, sense of dread, loss of interest, emotional etc. It is all part and parcel of this dreaded condition. Good luck with the CBT :)

Graham, there is light at the end of the tunnel and you have started the journey. I'm not going to lie, I have been struggling with this for about 10yrs and have had periods where all the symptoms go and other times they come back with a vengance. You may have already experienced the range of symptoms that you are going to get and may not have any new symptoms. The key is trying to accept what your body is doing and not add anymore fear onto it, try to relax with what your body is doing, it will support you, your arms wont let you down. I know how hard that is as when you get a strange feeling out of the blue the first reaction is to tense and be on alert and be scared, and then the cycle starts again. CBT will show you how to cope when that happens, its not going to be an overnight success but your are definately on the right path. You will get loads of support here as well.

That is good news about your blood work, hopefully you will relax a bit knowing there is nothing medically wrong. With anxiety our body holds so much tension so we are prone to unexplained aches and pains. Try not to look at it as 10 steps back, you are taking steps to continue to move forward so be positive about that. You have CBT planned, you have been to the GP, how about trying out some relaxation techniques to relieve some of the physical tension? Wait until you start seeing an improvement in your thinking or you realise that your body feels relaxed or you havent 'checked in to how you are feeling' for a few hours.....you will be encouraged.....baby steps my friend :)

Thank you so much for the advice, yes baby steps are the only way i was so active before this started, i was very active in cycling the last cycle i done was for charity 300km before this hit me, then nothing, GP told me to get back on my bike. I did i cycled 20k on saturday this has got to be the hardest cycle i have ever done but it is a start. I am trying so hard to motivate myself to beat this but some days like i say i go a step forward only to get knocked back by this, I thank you all so much for your help and advice, today has been tough but i am determined to see light at the end of this tunnel and tommorow i will try the relaxation techniques i am also awaiting some self help, books to arrive and i will read them also as a start to recovery.

It seems a never ending circle, bruises marks bumps i once ignored are now looked at in a different light. I just cant keep going to the GP with everything that pops up and everytime i try to get away and ignore things i just get dragged right back in, but im determined to beat this terrible thing, so frustrated again today, what am i looking for here why does my mind interpret everything so differently now its just unreal.
