ESR test - what is this for?

The doctor is sending me for an ESR blood test. What would this be for?

Symptoms as below

Trembling
Muscle cramps/twitches
Headaches sometimes mild/sometimes horrible
Neck and shoulder tension. Pain between shoulder blades
Excess saliva
Pins/needles/burning sensations


I thought is was just anxiety and now I'm worried :-(

Any thoughts?

It just checks for any inflammation, nothing to worry about.

Yes I had this last month, as Annie said looks for inflammation and the levels can be raised for often very minor things. Please do not worry, it is a very common blood test. :flowers:
