Diane asked me to keep you all updated on her progress. She is so appreciative of all the support you have been giving her. Nicola, Di loves the NMP bear and has taken him to hospital with her. By now she will have been in the operating theatre for 2 hours with 8 more to go. Please pray for her as she goes through this. I don't expect to hear from her partner until tomorrow but I will let you know as soon as I do.
Annie, you are the best! Thank you, and I will definitely being praying for her, and hoping all goes well. :hugs:

Di should be half way through her op now. She won't know anything about it for 3 days as they are keeping her asleep to give her time to heal.

Di's partner has just phoned me to say that the operation went really well, there were no complications at all. They have not needed to put a tracheotomy in so they may be able to wake her tomorrow. I am crying now because I am so relieved! Her partner asked me to thank all of you as you all kept her spirits up yesterday while she was waiting to go to hospital and he said NMP has been a godsend to her. xx
How amazing is that?!
Glad to hear that it went really well and they may wake her early. Her family must be so relieved.
Now lets hope the rest of her recovery is as straightforward and successful as the operation.

Di's partner will phone me again when she wakes up so I will give you all the next update then and I will ask him to pass all your good wishes on to her. I am sure she will enjoy reading through the post when she eventually gets back home.

Oh what brilliant news:) I'm so glad that she's through the surgery safe and well:) I've been thinking of her all day today, even told my friend about her.
Nicola is right NMP ted will really look after her, mine looks after me really well:)

Oh didn't realize you may have needed a tracheotomy, no wonder you were nervous. Very happy the opperation went as well as it could and they were no complications.

Di's partner just called to say that they tried to wake her this morning but she was having trouble breathing so they kept her asleep. They have tried again tonight and she is breathing fine. They are letting her go in an out of Consciousness to give her some relief but she is doing fine and the doctors are pleased with her progress.

Oh :( it's great they are keeping her sedated, I know I'd prefer to sleep through the bad parts than to be aware and anxious.
Oh it's so good her breathing is ok now, hopefully she will continue to improve x

I have just spoken to Di's partner this morning. She woke up fully yesterday but had a breathing tube in still and was very distressed so they put her to sleep again. They have woke her again this morning and have managed to take the breathing tube out and she is breathing fine on her own now. They won't get the lymph node biopsy results until after Christmas but the surgeon did say that they look fine and he is not expecting there to be any problems with them. He said that the operation has been very successful.

Oh that's good, the surgeon seems to think things have gone well.
Hoping the biopsy results are good :)
It's good she can breathe on her own, I'm sure it's very distressing to anyone to have a breathing tube in, can't imagine how awful that would feel :( at least the doctor put her back to sleep, better she she doesn't have to deal with additional stress :)

I'm sorry she was distressed yesterday, poor lady.
But it's great hearing that today she is much better and breathing on her own, what a wonderful Christmas present for us all to hear that:D

Di's partner called me this morning. On Saturday poor Di was really anxious and panicky but yesterday was much better. From what I understand she mustn't swallow so needs a mouth suction and was worried on Saturday about the nurses getting to her in time to do it but she is now able to use the suction herself so is much happier with that. Her speech is very good and the only time her partner finds it a little difficult to understand her is when she is really tired. He said she even sang Rudolph the Red nosed Reindeer yesterday to give her tongue some exercise. Don't forgot we all have to wear our party hats tomorrow whether we are alone or feeding the five thousand and think about Di as she will be thinking about us while she is wearing hers. A truly lovely and inspirational lady. xx

No one has touched me more than this brave lady Ddcoo since joining NMP. It is absolutely great that so many people on here have and are giving her such overwhelming support .
Quite frankly I am lost for words. I don't know the lady but feel I am going through her ordeal with her, on a daily basis.

Another call from Diane's husband this morning. Diane asked the nurses if she could wear the party hat out of a cracker so that she could be like all her friends on NMP :). She was able to get up yesterday and have a shower and walk around a little.

My update for Diane is... I was surprised when I answered the phone this morning and it was Di, speaking so clearly! I am not going to tell you anymore because I know Diane will be here as soon as possible today :D

She should be here soon. She needed to sort out a nebulizar at home to help with her breathing but is doing really well and said she will try to get on her computer sometime today :)
