I've just had a major panic attack over the fear of what the echo scan will reveal I'm terrified really am I went in for routine pill for no more baby's. and blood pressure realll shstened to my heart and heard a noise of a murmer and ordered an ecg that came back my normal rate. then said I want you to have an. echo as heart abnormal I'm worried sick I'm going to die. I have two young children and scared to pieces scan middle of January what's worst. is my friend works at hospital where they do heart scans and said they are backed logged and the scan I'm having is not with them its with a doctor surgery witha. Specialist. which she put fear saying that's odd. please please I don't know what to do just had a panic attack

Ok try and stay calm and think this through. If the doctor thought there was potentially something seriously wrong with your heart I'm sure they would be moving a lot quicker! Hopefully it's just routine procedure. From what I understand lots of people can have irregular hert beats and murmurs and be absolutely fine. At least you are booked in for an assessment and if there is something wrong (which there probably isn't given % chances) you will be able to get it sorted. For me I think the worst bit of health anxiety is the doubt an uncertainty. I've spent 7 months wondering every day if I will have a heart attack today because of chest pains. All this does is add fuel to the fire and make you more anxious and give you more symptoms. Look at it as a positive that you will know for sure in a few weeks time.
