Hey

So I have been complaining of right sided headaches for over a year and had a CT scan back in May which normal.
Have seen a neurologist and after a full work up told me it was a form of migraine and wanted to put me on amnitriptalin or how ever you spell that for 3 months and theb go back and see how I am.
After considering this I decided I wasn't going to just take these meds when there could be something else going on in my brain so pushed for an MRI. My neurologist said he didn;t think there was anything suspicious going on in my brain but gave into me.
I got my wish and had the MRI yesterday morning of the brain and pituitary gland.

So my problem is as follows:
I'm claustrophobic so one of the radiologists stayed the room and held y hand while in there and the other guy was behind the glass controlling the machine.
So after about ten minutes the radiologist holding my hand looked in at me and said I think this might be the last scan and I said great then a couple of minutes later he said he was gong to take me back ut of machine while he leaves the room to go into other guy for a sec then he will put me back in when he comes back. so he came back then and said he wuld have to put me back in for abt 2 more mins but i panicked when he pu tme in and then he said its ok we will leave it, we have results for your g.p.

So now I am freaked out thinking why they tried put me back in again and what did he mean by they have results already like I'm screwed, they saw something or something I dunno but I cannot sleep with this going on.

Some advice would really be appreciated, I'm so scared

Hi just want to say I know how you feel. I had an MRI this week and after they asked me if I have an appointment with the specialist and I keep thinking about why they asked me and what did they see. I also missed a call from a private number yesterday and keep thinking it was the hospital calling to tell me to come in urgently etc (despite the fact no one called again all day and no message was left).

The people who take the MRI's would have told you that they can't discuss the scans with you at the appointment.

Its normal practice for your doctor to see you after the scan to talk you through it. I'm sure you'll have nothing to worry about.

I'm guessing that they put you back in, because like Xrays, your body must be SUPER STILL while they take the scan (I've had about 4 MRIs now).. I moved a little once, so they had to redo it also.

So happy that you're scan is fine. And MRI is such an amazing machine, so you can rest assure that you ARE fine! ;-)

I used to get lots of head aches, some that would strike suddenly and make me feel that I was going to pass out... MRI scan showed nothing... was all tension because I was in such a high state of anxiety. the less I thought about them, the weaker they got, and eventually stopped altogether. :)
