hi, i just still struggle to beleave or accept anxiety can cause my chest to feel this way day in day out its driving me mad it feels achey/tight and sometimes like heavy pressure on my chest everyday there is some discomfort there. i feel restricted what i can do physically because of it. my therapist is trying to get me more active to try and challenge the worry over my health and the doctor says it might be time for a change in tablets but then i worry about changing and feeling worse whilst the new ones kick in.
thanks guys

Hi,

I hear what you're saying.

I've had many chest symptoms, from those of tightness and discomfort, to damn right painful stabbing pains that would almost make me pass out. The feelings and pains are real, but we just make them with our minds, as opposed to a real 'organic' problem with any organs etc. I've had so many tests on my heart over the past 4 years, all of which have been normal and checked by specialist cardiologists.

My only advice, is to ''act as if'' you're well. (which you ARE!)... by acting as if you're well, you're sending a strong message of ''everything is ok'' to your subsconscious. This is how I overcame it, and did more exercise despite my worries... and the more I did this, pushing my comfort zone out, and doing more physical things, the less worried I was and the less power the 'fear' had over me.

I still get my setbacks, but I've from from being unable to leave the house 4 years ago, to now living overseas and holding down a job, with just the odd day off here and there for sickness due to anxiety.. my boss knows about my anxiety and is very understanding.

Good luck mate. You will be fine, because YOU ARE FINE! Positive thinking will take us far! ;-)
