I'm sure this has been asked before, but I would really like to get some good tried and tested relaxation cds to try. What would you recommend?
Have I posted this in the wrong place?

Do they have to be CDs or would MP3s be OK too? I've found the relaxation/mindfulness MP3s at Excel At Life (http://www.excelatlife.com/)to be really helpful. They are free too. :)

Do you have a smart phone? There are loads of cool relaxation apps. I've got a few on my iPhone and they work a treat.

I like Glenn harrold relaxation CD's, I got mine from amazon, you can check out the star rating before you buy.

Hi BobbyDog, I've heard of him - which do you think is best?

I think it is the "relaxation" one, I will check and if not will get back to you. I played it religiously for about 6 months when I went to bed at night. I have bought loads of hypnotherapy/relaxation cd's over the years, but this was the best for me.

The best relaxation ones are ones that are anxiety-focused. I think some people will struggle with some non-specialist ones. Also, others such as myself with aspergers and other in-built inabilities to relax should do some research before spending money on these things.

Anyone, aspergers or not, needs to train themselves to use these. You don't listen once and all your problems go away. However I have found them quite useful and would recommend Sleep Like A Log and Change Your Life in 7 Days by Paul McKenna. It's ridiculous to think you will become a new person and sustain the change in just a week, but there is some genuinely good, reassuring stuff, and the hypnotic music is very good.

There are a few others I use as well so I'll try to find the names and authors.

C,

I listen to the relax melodies by ilb soft. There are a couple of different ones, both with free editions which have fewer sounds than the paid-for ones. Just search for relax in the App Store and try a few different ones out.

I find that classic fm on radio turned down low helps me:hugs:

Thanks everyone!

That's a good idea Magic - I used to like having Radio 4 on like that, very soothing voices! Trouble is, my partner doesn't like it lol!

I use youtube, there are (for me) some great sounds videos. One that chills me out is "Rain in a tent" and "Rain in a car", by yogaduke if I remember rightly.
