can u drink while on meds?

On quite a few meds can u have a few drinks for xmas?

It is advised not to drink alcohol with AD's and anxiety meds but I guess one small drink won't harm, it could make you more drowsy though.

Meds seem to amplify the effects of drink so one drink can feel like you have had a lot more. Like Annie said it will probably make you feel drowsy.

If it states to avoid alcohol then probably best to stick to that

I stopped drinking 8 years ago, partly because of the fact that I'd feel ill after 2 pints, because of my medication. Don't miss it in the slightest.

I drink on fluoxetine, not a huge amount but a few glasses of wine here and there. My doctor said it's fine and to just drink responsibly.

Sorry, I will just add that it probably depends on the medication, dose and most importantly the person. It doesn't have any sort of negative effect on me which is lucky, other people will react differently. A side effect of alcohol is obviously the fact it is one of the worlds biggest depressants.

I think if it has a very negative effect on you then it's Probably best to avoid it.

I have tried to limit my alcohol intake though as I drink too much on weekends (don't touch it during the week).

I was on fuoxetine for a long time when I was younger. I drank just like I did before I went on them. I wasn't an alcoholic or anything but I was in my early twenties and I liked to go out and have a good time! It didn't affect me at all but I agree everyone is different and definitely check the leaflet that's in with the meds.
