View Full Version : Please advise on citalopram

Hi all, wondering if anybody could offer advice, I have been on citalopram 10mg for 4 weeks and have just upped to 20mg 4 days ago. I haven't had any side effects but I also don't seem much better yet, am I jumping the gun a bit, I thought i would notice a big change but haven't yet is this normal?? Any advice would be greatly appreciated??

Welcome to the site. Meds can take a while to work and their effects can be quite subtle, you may not notice anything earth-shattering just that everything is so much easier. Stick with it and try to be patient. All the best.

They say 2-4 weeks but drs say 8 -12 weeks but if you have had a increase then it can take another 8-12 weeks its frustrating I know

It'll probably take a few more days for the increase to kick in fully. Keep going and you should see an improvement soon. :)

I hope you do best of luck I'm having a shitty time on venlafaxine been on it 3 months still no improvement started on 75 for 2 weeks then 150 for 8 weeks now been on 225 for 2 weeks getting kinda fed up with increased anxiety and depression and I find I get bad constipation from it :(
