How accurate are Chest CT Scans with contrast

The reason I am asking is because I was coughing up blood last month and had the CT Scan which showed only Phenmonia . After a few days on Anti Biotics the Blood in the phlem was gone. But 4 days ago it started again :( I'm freaking out the CT scan could of missed something like Lung Cancer. Help Please

iv had a ct scan and they they are very accurate so if they say theirs nowt there then theirs nowt their

A CT scan is VERY accurate and I am sure would definitely have picked up a tumour. If you are still coughing, the blood could easily come from elsewhere in your airways, maybe just from a small burst blood vessel. Run it by your doctor again if it doesn't clear or you are still worried, but after a CT scan you can be reassured that there is no tumour in your lungs. Best wishes from Annie
