hi my name is michelle. i am new to this site but have found posts very helpful. :yesyes: i an a recovering addict and i have depression and anxiety to go with it. not a good combo. i find it hard to deal with my depression and addiction at times but i do go to AA/NA which helps alot. i am new to any site like this. ive never discussed my problems on a forum. i came across the site by asking a question on google about miratazipine and weight gain. i am so glad ive found this site. i think it will be very helpful.

If anyone wud like to ask me anything feel free.

Hi Michelle

Welcome to the forum.

With regard to weight gain and Mirtazapine, I'm 4 stone overweight, but have stayed that way for the 5 years so far I've been on Mirt. but I have to count what I eat (point diet, you know the one) and get plenty of exercise.

Any weight gain is down to Mirt giving you the "munchies" which is quite common with this drug.

thank u mark. yes mirt does give u munchies hahaha but i am doing the points lol i have lost 3lb (of the stone i put on from taking mirt first 2 weeks) in my first 4 days of point counting. thank u for clearing up my question of is it the tabs( mirt ) itsself or the fact it gives u an appetite that makes u put on weight.

thank u x
