strange smells in my nose

Ok I do get a lot of sinuses and hay fever. I notice I do get a lot of random smells in my nose and a lot of them aren't really pleasant. Im thinking its to do with the sinuses.

Does anyone know what it actually means when I get that smell? It usually comes with sinus headaches and/or after a hay fever attack.

My dad reckons it means my sinuses are rotting with an infection and that made me feel really disgusted thinking that I can smell an infection all the time eeerr yuck.

Yeah I get lots of strange smells in my nose all the time, I just thought I had a very strong sense of smell and never thought to link it to anxiety until now, maybe it's another symptom?
