first id like to say wow what a great forum and this is my first posting but i have found reading through the site a great help. heres my little rant lol.
last september i was prescribed 10mg of citalaprom and had horrendous side effects which i managed to ride out (god knows how )lol. but after starting with the citalopram i noticed i started having intrusive thoughts which i never had before starting the tabs. in the last month or so ive had a return of the panic attacks and a lot of anxious feelings, not sure why. But im not keen to increase my dose of medication due to the side effects i suffered last time. I have been having horrible thoughts latley about killing myself, and that theres nothing to look forward to. which i dont know why because i have two children and a husband that i love to bits im hoping that its just the intrusive thoughts and that i wont act on them!! any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated. thank you.

Athough I am not on medication and have never been I do get a lot of intrusive thoughts like yours too and they just subside somehow after some time...unfortunately i do not have a better advice. A warm welcome to the forum, Im sure someone else might have a better advice for you, people here are very supportive and caring. Hope you feel better soon.

hi beckssss,
you will get good advice off this forum.
i am on cit too and i seemed to have most of my anxiety/thoughts after i started them too, i used to blame the tabs but i think it was going to come anyway as it progresses doesnt it. if you can stick out the sides up your dosage, have you been on them 12 mnths then? if you have then you def need to up dosage as i was told they do the job for 6 mnths, but might not be true, i am on 40mg a day and boy were the sides rough but worth it i hope
julie

we are all stronger people after having this

Only side effects I had on citalopram were a little dizzyness and lightheadedness when I first started 10mg, upped to 20mg and had no side effects and then to 40mg with no side effects.

Maybe that's why they don't seem to be working anymore. I mean, if there's no side effects, can't be all that strong on my body?
