citalopram withdrawl??

Hi there,

Im having a crap week. Had a virus which has led to bronchitis and last few days ive felt really dizzy and lightheaded..ive recently stopped taking citalopram which ive been on for 3 yrs. Im really paranoid these dizzy spells are a sign of something serious...i know im probably overeacting but im feeling a bit on edge. Anyone know anything about cit withdrawl??

What dose were you on and how quickly did you taper off?

Hi Lee!

After being on the same drug as you for ten years I came off. I tried a bit too suddenly a few times which causes the withdrawal symptoms so I did it very slowly over almost 4 months and it softened the blow slightly. The feelings so pass I promise you!!

Well done for feeling good enough to come off the meds!! And remember that they are always there for you, should you need them again!
