hi guys is there anyone on amitriptyline, and if so do you take them altogether or split them throughout the day.I take 2 x 25mg at bedtime which is what my gp prescribed but its making me have a very dry mouth,so I going to ask him if I can take one in the morning and one in the evening.do you think it will have the same effect.(do not mean dry throat)I mean to keep me "sane".hope everyone is ok.heres to a good night sleep.x

Ive taken them before, if you take them day time they are likely to make you quite sleepy, as they should be doing at night. Dry mouth is a pain, so I used to take a glass of water to bed with me. I dont think splitting the dose will make a difference to how they make you feel generally.

I've taken them for years.

20mg in the morning and 40mg in the evening.

Get dry mouth a lot but it does not bother me.

Must admit Jean thought they were pretty old hat now. Having said that my prozac is supplemented by 10mg of them at night to help sleep.

I used to take amitriptyline but always took them at night as they used to make me very sleepy.
Know what you mean about the dry mouth though, I used to carry sweets and chewing gum with me to try and help with this. :flowers:
