cut in mouth/purple lip

whats the difference between a lesion and an ulcer in the mouth
its behind the upper mouth near my cheek and can only see it when I use the flash on my camera and looks like a cut, its all red and sore too

also got purple blotches on my upper lips and they looked like they are chapped on the bottom as can see what look like blisters or dry skin. is the purple anything to worry about??
