OK, after seeing my new doctor today she says I most likely have GERD and suspects H.Pylori infection as well. So, I've got to bring in a stool sample and have a blood test on Wednesday! :/ I'm SO scared because last time I had an injection I was sick and fainted, and as most of you know, I have emetophobia... I don't want to waste my parents or my doctors time. I cannot relax at all, I am practically unable to so I'm going to be a complete wreck when I go there on Wednesday.

Any advice on what I should do?

If at all possible, ask to see your doctor tomorrow - tell them how you feel and ask if they can give you something to help calm you (I'm thinking diazepam. Or, you could try some Kalms maybe? I've never tried them but have heard good things about them. You could always try one tomorrow to see how they make you feel. Or how about some rescue remedy?

Hunny, please try to talk to your doctor tomorrow and explain how upsetting and stressful this is for you x

Oh damn. I've only just seen your comment Angelai. :( I'm feeling deathly nauseous just thinking about it tomorrow. I'm more scared about fainting and being sick more than anything else. I also heard that if they can't draw blood out of one arm, they go to another. That's made me not want to go at all... :/ Is there anything I can do to make the blood come out the first time they out the needle in? because I don't want to go through it twice. :(

Drink plenty of water - some nurses say that really helps. And, tell them how you feel - they won't want you fainting either and may be more careful/considerate. Can someone come with you? xx

Thanks Angelai, I'll definitely do that. :) It's been pushed to tomorrow now since it's too icy outside, and we don't have a car.

My Dad will take me tomorrow. There's no way I'll be going on my own. :P

Ask them to let you lay down and just don't look at it at all. I have blood tests a lot and I still can't watch them doing it so I just turn my head away and chat to the nurse to take my mind off it.

Thank you Nicola. :) I have heard that lying down definitely helps. I've not had an injection for over 10 years in my arm so it's kinda scary. :(

hey guys, I had it done! It was absolutely nothing! I was panicing all the way there and in the waiting room for nothing. The nurses were brilliant! They were very supportive when I told them I have a phobia of needles and made me laugh. They applied some numbing spray on my right arm and I closed my eyes. I only felt a very mild sting when they put the needle in and when they took it out. When they said 'done!', I opened my eyes and felt really faint. My eyes went all distorted and everything so they gave me some water and I was fine afterwards.

This is a major achievement and I'm very proud of myself. I can safely say I'm cured of my needle phobia! :yesyes:
