Hello all, I took a amoxicillin capsule about 3 hours ago, and it feels like its stuck in my throat. What are the chances of this? It feels a bit sore and feels like its still there...however antibiotics also give me acid reflux, could this account for this feeling?

hi katepower, hope you are feeling better.when i take capsules i tend to drown lots of water, and eat a piece of bread or biscuit.you could also try and take it in custard.i am buying the small pots of ready made custard at the moment.all the best for the rest of today.x

sometimes when there's something stuck like that for me, i try a fizzy drink. i know that wont help acid though so it might not work for you. Did it calm down at all? But yes I'd usually drink water first (so your throat is lubricated) and then take the tablet with lots of water. The more the better as it washes it further down & lessens the likelihood of it getting stuck.
If you need cheering up a little, This may make you laugh... I went to take a Fluoxetine capsure one morning & assumed I'd swallowed it successfully (they're small enough that I dont usually notice them go down). Anyway about an hour later I noticed that my bottle of water looked a funny colour - then I realised said capsule had obviously floated up into the bottle as I was drinking! Doh....
