I'm 24 generally healthy dont smoke and am tee total. suffer with chronic sinusitis but recently (I'd say past 2 to 3 months) I've been having breathlessness on and off, not as if I can't catch my breath, more like a constant quick breathing feeling as if I can't get enough oxygen to my lungs. I tend to sigh and yawn a lot. I can't do any type of exercise without it getting worse and feel like I need to sit down afterwards. I also have chest pain on and off again not severe but enough for me to notice it. This is with MANY heart palpatations I used to have them once a week but now I'm noticing them happening every day. Sometimes they're so bad I feel like my body shuts down then resets itself after a few seconds. As well as this I'm feeling constantly tired and weak I know my sinuses contribute to generally feeling unwell but it's just so much worse recently even when I'm not suffering from an infection! I've been to the doctors do many times they've passed it off as asthma, hyperventilation and anxiety but I'm so worried something's wrong with my heart! Has anyone else had these symptoms? They seem to be reluctant to send me for an ECG but I think I might demand one because I'm sick of being in pain!! Anyone else relate?

hi Ella.. it could be a mixture of a few things, for instance if you do have asthma & exercising brings on the shortness of breath, then the anxiety might be kicking in and causing the palpitations..

did your doc give you anything for the asthma, seeing as he/she has suggested you may have it?

Hi daisy well it's strange really the doctor listened to my chest and said he doesn't think it's my lungs but he Said an inhaler might help so I have one but I don't think it's helped at all really. My sister has asthma and I know the symptoms she has are nothing like mine and I don't really feel as if I am having an attack it's just a really constant uncomfortable feeling. To be honest I have no faith in doctors it took me a year and a half for them to refer me to an ENT specialist for my sinusesafter fobbing me off with so many different things and turns out I have to have an operation on them. So now I'm just worrying I might have a heart condition Or something!! I think i need to be tougher one them
For them to suggest doing further tests!
