If you want serious "way off" illness it can be:
cancer, thyroid problems, infection of your epiglottis, brain problem and it's affecting your involuntary muscles.

If you want a simple "very probable problem"
sheer panic, anxiety.

When I had panic attacks I not only felt that "lump" in my throat but my throat felt like a funnel and I had a very hard time breathing it's was just like wheezing then I suddenly realized I was hyperventilating.

You can either go to an ENT or a neurologist to have yourself checked out.
